渔夫抓到一条能说话的金鱼，金鱼求饶说会报答他。

The Crow and the Pitcher
A thirsty crow found a pitcher with little water inside.
It dropped pebbles in one by one until the water rose high enough to drink.
Moral: Little by little does the trick; necessity is the mother of invention.

Yī zhī wūyā kǒu kě le, fāxiàn shuǐguàn lǐ de shuǐ tài dī.
Tā bǎ xiǎo shítou yī kē kē diū jìnqù, shuǐmiàn shēnggāo, tā zhōngyú hē dào le shuǐ.
Yùyì: Jī shǎo chéng duō; huò: xūqiú cùshǐ fāmíng.

狗与骨头
一只狗叼着骨头过河，看见水中的影子以为是另一只狗。
它想抢那块“骨头”，结果自己嘴里的掉进了水里。
寓意：贪心会让人失去已有的东西。

The Dog and the Bone
A dog was crossing a river with a bone in its mouth and saw its reflection.
Thinking it was another dog with a bigger bone, it tried to grab it and lost its own.
Moral: Greed can make you lose what you already have.

Gǒu yǔ gǔtou
Yī zhī gǒu diāo zhe gǔtou guò hé, kànjiàn shuǐ zhōng de yǐngzi yǐwéi shì lìng yī zhī gǒu.
Tā xiǎng qiǎng nà kuài “gǔtou”, jiéguǒ zìjǐ zuǐ lǐ de diào jìn le shuǐ lǐ.
Yùyì: Tānxīn huì ràng rén shīqù yǐ yǒu de dōngxī.

狗与狼
一只瘦狼遇到一只胖狗，狗说自己吃得很好，因为给主人看门。
狼看到狗脖子上的链子后，决定宁愿饿着也不要失去自由。
寓意：宁可自由受饿，也不做饱食的奴隶。

The Dog and the Wolf
A skinny wolf met a fat dog who said he was well-fed because he guarded his master’s house.
When the wolf saw the collar around the dog’s neck, he chose freedom over food.
Moral: Better to starve free than be a well-fed slave.

Gǒu yǔ láng
Yī zhī shòu láng yù dào yī zhī pàng gǒu, gǒu shuō zìjǐ chī de hěn hǎo, yīnwèi gěi zhǔrén kànmén.
Láng kàn dào gǒu bózi shàng de liànzi hòu, juédìng níngyuàn è zhe yě bùyào shīqù zìyóu.
Yùyì: Níngkě zìyóu shòu è, yě bù zuò bǎo shí de núlì.

狗占马槽
一条狗趴在马槽上，不让马吃草。
马说：“你自己又不吃，干嘛不让别人吃呢？”
寓意：自己不能享受的，也不愿他人拥有。

The Dog in the Manger
A dog lay in the manger and refused to let the horses eat the hay.
The horse said, “You don’t eat it yourself, so why stop others from eating?”
Moral: People often begrudge others what they cannot enjoy themselves.

Gǒu zhàn mǎcáo
Yī tiáo gǒu pā zài mǎcáo shàng, bù ràng mǎ chī cǎo.
Mǎ shuō: “Nǐ zìjǐ yòu bù chī, gànmá bù ràng biérén chī ne?”
Yùyì: Zìjǐ bùnéng xiǎngshòu de, yě bù yuàn tārén yǒngyǒu.

农夫与鹳
农夫在田里设网捉鹤和鹳，一只鹳也被捉住了。
鹳说：“我不是鹤，我是好鸟！” 农夫回答：“可你和它们在一起。”
寓意：物以类聚，人以群分。

The Farmer and the Stork
A farmer set nets in his field to catch cranes and storks; one stork was caught.
The stork said, “I’m not a crane, I’m a good bird!” The farmer replied: “But you were with them.”
Moral: You are judged by the company you keep.

Nóngfū yǔ guàn
Nóngfū zài tián lǐ shè wǎng zhuō hè hé guàn, yī zhī guàn yě bèi zhuō zhù.
Guàn shuō: “Wǒ bù shì hè, wǒ shì hǎo niǎo!” Nóngfū huídá: “Kě nǐ hé tāmen zài yīqǐ.”
Yùyì: Wù yǐ lèi jù, rén yǐ qún fēn.

渔夫
一个渔夫抓到一条小鱼，小鱼求他说：“请放了我吧，我还太小，将来我会更大。”
渔夫笑着说：“别空想了，我要的是现在能吃的鱼。”
寓意：身在人手之下，只能听从命令。

A fisherman caught a small fish. The fish begged, “Please let me go, I am too small now; I’ll be bigger later.”
The fisherman laughed: “Don’t dream, I want a fish I can eat now.”

Yúfū
Yī gè yúfū zhuā dào yī tiáo xiǎo yú, xiǎo yú qiú tā shuō: “Qǐng fàng le wǒ ba, wǒ hái tài xiǎo, jiānglái wǒ huì gèng dà.”
Yúfū xiàozhe shuō: “Bié kōngxiǎng le, wǒ yào de shì xiànzài néng chī de yú.”
Yùyì: Shēn zài rén shǒu zhī xià, zhǐ néng tīngcóng mìnglìng.

狐狸与乌鸦
乌鸦叼着一块肉停在树上，狐狸走过来夸它的嗓音好听。
乌鸦得意地叫了一声，肉掉下来，被狐狸叼走了。
寓意：不要轻信奉承之言。

Yùyì: Bùyào qīngxìn fèngchéng zhī yán.

狐狸与山羊
狐狸掉进井里出不来，山羊经过问它水好不好。
狐狸说水很甜，引山羊跳下来，自己却踩着山羊逃走了。
寓意：不要相信陷入困境之人的建议。

Lìng yī zhī shuō: “Bié qù, wàimiàn wéixiǎn.” Dàn nà zhī qīngwā háishì tiào le chūqù, jiàn dào le gèng guǎngkuò de tiāndì.
Yùyì: Sān sī ér hòu xíng.

青蛙们厌倦了自由，向上天请求一个国王。

Shàngtiān gěi le tāmen yī gēn mùtou, hòulái yòu gěi le yī tiáo shé, jiéguǒ shé bǎ tāmen dōu chī le.
Yùyì: Níngkě wú zhèng, yě shèng yú bàozhèng.

下金蛋的鹅
农夫有一只每天下金蛋的鹅，他嫌太慢，把鹅杀了想一次取出所有金蛋。
结果什么也没得到。
寓意：贪多必失。

The Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs
A farmer had a goose that laid a golden egg every day. Impatient, he killed it to get all the eggs at once.
He ended up with nothing.
Moral: Those who want too much lose everything.

Xià jīn dàn de é
Nóngfū yǒu yī zhī měitiān xià jīn dàn de é, tā xián tài màn, bǎ é shā le xiǎng yīcì qǔ chū suǒyǒu jīn dàn.
Jiéguǒ shénme yě méi dédào.
Yùyì: Tān duō bì shī.

狮子与老鼠
狮子捉住一只小老鼠，老鼠求饶说以后会帮它。

老鼠们害怕猫，决定想办法防备。
有只老鼠提议在猫脖子上挂铃铛，但没人敢去做。

Yùyì: Tíchū bù kěnéng de bànfǎ shì róngyì de.

调皮的狗
有只狗总是乱咬人，主人给它脖子上挂铃铛警示别人。
